Hello World! Here I am in front of YOU. Where to start? Let me first share with you what kind of content I intend to post here and what you can expect. Let’s get started!

For those of you who haven’t yet read my About Me page, I invite you to first go check it out. This will give you an overview of who I am and why I’ve decided to start this blog. I won’t go through that again so please do go have a read.

So what kind of content can you expect here? Well here are a few images that display quite nicely what ”Feed Your Brain, Love Your Life” is all about:

First let me explain how my posts will be categorized. Everything I intend to share in my blog will be about feeding your brain the right foods, nutrients, thoughts, mindset, enough exercise and sleep, reducing stress, surrounding ourselves with healthy relationships and nourishing our spiritual life. Wow! You might be thinking to yourself. That sounds like a huge order! Well it is and it isn’t. Everything I’ve just mentioned actually falls under the 4 circles of life: your biology, your psychology, your social life and your spirituality. We are human beings and we need all four to experience true health and mental wellbeing.

I also need to explain why learning to feed our brain daily will be central to this blog. Your brain is the organ of your mental wellbeing. Your brain is your hardware and your thoughts and feelings are your software. I like to compare the brain to a computer. If your computer is broken or has circuits that don’t work, it will make downloading any software more difficult and you most probably will encounter some problems along the way. It’s the same with your brain. If your brain is unhealthy for what ever reason; unhealthy diet, lack of nutrients, lack of sleep, too much stress or lack of exercise or a past traumatic brain injury, your thoughts, mindset, relationships and reasons for living will be affected.

As a registered holistic nutritionist and brain health coach, I can tell you that the health of your brain is KEY if you want to improve your health. As a nutritionist, I take the food that you eat very seriously, but I also must consider your lifestyle, medical history, as well as past and present life events. And as a brain health coach, I follow the Amen Method. This method takes into consideration all four circles of life I mentioned earlier when evaluating your brain’s needs for certain foods and nutrients, needs for you to make certain lifestyle choices regarding exercise, stress, sleeping habits, relationships and finding a reason for improving your health.

Figuring out what you can do to improve the health of your brain so you can feel happier, calmer and more alive every single day is what this blog is all about. However, to avoid creating a blog that is too serious, where a reader might feel overwhelmed by everything they must consider, I intend to include posts that share what I am up to, and what I do on a daily basis to keep myself healthy, happy and feeling alive. These posts will be under the ”love your life” tab. I will also share here my own personal struggles and how I manage to overcome them. I do intend to get personal so you can get to know me. Trust me, I do get my days! However the goal of these more personal posts is to show you what is possible, and what you can achieve once you make the choice to make the health of your brain a priority.

On my ”About me” page I mentioned that this blog will be about discovering your true potential and becoming who you are MEANT to BE. For this, there is only one real requirement, and that is to fall in love with your brain. That’s right, you read it. You need to truly love your brain if you want it to love your back! Every day you have choices to make, and these choices will determine how you feel. To help you make the right choices, I will end this post by sharing with you a question you can ask yourself every single time you are faced with one of these choices:

” Is this good for my brain or bad for my brain ? ”

It’s very simple but also very affective! This is your first ”homework”. Trust me on this one. I highly encourage you for one full week to ask yourself this question every single time you are faced with a choice such as:

  • Should I eat that piece of cake?
  • Should I stay up late tonight and watch my favorite Netflix series when I know I want to get up early tomorrow morning?
  • Do I really want to go for a walk this morning?
  • Is this 4th cup of coffee a good idea?
  • Are these thoughts going to get me what I want out of life?

I hope these example are helpful. I also hope I’ve intrigued you enough for you to want to come back to my blog. I am very much looking forward to building a relationship with you throughout my posts. Please do leave a comment if your heart is calling you to do so. It will be my honor to read you in return and slowly build our relationship. Meanwhile,
